My own Blogging Experience

I had provided links to a few sites that I made to which I can post and comment on content. Well what can I say, it is very tough to keep a blog going. Partly to with the fact that I have no time, no new content and no idea of what I want to talk about. I seems more difficult than I thought it would be. Perhaps over the summertime I should think about taking this more seriously.

In a discussion with a friend from another college, he was saying that when he uses blogs that he is trying to promote his photography. He mentions the idea of 'true followers'. I had said to him that gaining follows is a tricky concept for there are different types of followers and second to that there are bots.

My friend had mentioned for him a follower should be considered a person who actively follows who will comment and share content, routinely, this way you know that you are providing good work and that your content is being disseminated.

I think my biggest fail was tumblr, tumblr is intensive. The content on tumbr seems to be second hand in nature, aka it is not a lot of original work. However there is some interesting content when it comes to photography and 90's fashion styles which isnt too bad. But its the amount of work that you need to put into maintaining your profile. For example I looked up a you tube video about the usal method of using tumblr and it was suggesting that you have one post an hour and that you would stack them up early in the day and then let them post each hour. This seemed too much for me, I dont have the time to explore new content, comment, and reblog. This is why tumblr was a fail.

Twitter was interesting, for it offers restrictions in amount of text. This was successful in terms of getting some favorites tweets. I find that replying to a tweet and then a good bit of #hashtagging will help your post be found. However in terms of keeping up with content once again very difficult.

Instgram, difficult once again, but I like my feed there the best, I find that the content that I have followed has allowed for suggested pages to be of interest to me. However very very difficult to create content, I find that I cannot re use content like on tumblr, with instagram because I find that it is about showing your life and what you are doing right now through pictures.   Sadly, my life being summed into college, doesn't create that much interesting content, It would be good if you went traveling for 6 months and you documented your travels, now that might earn you a few viewers.
