I think my idea would be about diffusion, and innovation. I would want the company name to be diffused across my target market, when in place innovation would take place through active engagement.
The model would be implemented like so. I am assuming that the business has already been functioning for x amount of time, in which case a brand and target market is recognized.
- Set up platforms of social media that the target market you are involved in selling to use regularly and can access. For this example I will take a hairdressers. The target market is mostly women of 20-40s and some men of 20-50s. We will select Facebook and Twitter and Instagram as our platforms. We will set up all platforms with information, however only one platform will be used when growing our online consumer base, this will be Facebook due to accessibility and popularity.
- Before public releasing the page content must already be present as to engage people when they do go on to the page. Regular customers would be told of the up coming Facebook page, and the benefits of liking and subscribing before it comes out, thus building interest.
- Next the page becomes public, content is added regularly, such as questions and answers, links, other points of interest, and competitions. All content should aim at informing, and engaging. Over time diffusion should take place alongside innovation.
- When an x level of people are engaging with content posted then other social media platforms will come into play, this expansion will bring extra methods of communication with differnt methods. Tweets about just an idea, or tip. Instragram can show off the hairdressing skills etc
- Peoples activity must be monitored, as to understand how people are finding the content that is placed. Appropriate changes should be made to content if required.
- Also potential for potential customers may be possible, if social media is managed properly. As in new target markets could possibly be targeted.
